A super easy, delicious Cajun Sausage Pasta recipe that’s packed with smoky flavors and creamy goodness.
Ingredients
- 8 oz penne pasta
- 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or pepper jack)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions; drain it and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sausage and sauté until browned.
- Add the diced onion and bell pepper; cook until softened.
- Stir in the minced garlic and Cajun seasoning; cook for another minute.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer.
- Stir in the cooked pasta and shredded cheese until melted and well combined.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half. Feel free to add other vegetables like zucchini or spinach.
