Description

A super easy, delicious Cajun Sausage Pasta recipe that’s packed with smoky flavors and creamy goodness.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or pepper jack)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish


Instructions

  1. Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions; drain it and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sausage and sauté until browned.
  3. Add the diced onion and bell pepper; cook until softened.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic and Cajun seasoning; cook for another minute.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer.
  6. Stir in the cooked pasta and shredded cheese until melted and well combined.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half. Feel free to add other vegetables like zucchini or spinach.
