Description
A spooky and delicious Bloody Spaghetti dish with mozzarella eyeballs, perfect for Halloween parties or themed dinners.
Ingredients
- 12 oz spaghetti noodles
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 15 oz can crushed tomatoes
- 3 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes (optional)
- 12 mozzarella balls (ciliegine or bocconcini)
- 6 black olives, halved
Instructions
- Boil the spaghetti noodles in a pot of salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and chopped onions, sautéing until fragrant and translucent.
- Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and red chili flakes (if using) to the saucepan. Stir well and let simmer for 15 minutes.
- Prepare the mozzarella eyeballs by inserting a halved black olive into each mozzarella ball.
- Toss the cooked spaghetti in the sauce until evenly coated.
- Serve the spaghetti on a plate and top with mozzarella eyeballs before serving.
