Description

A spooky and delicious Bloody Spaghetti dish with mozzarella eyeballs, perfect for Halloween parties or themed dinners.


Ingredients

  • 12 oz spaghetti noodles
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 15 oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes (optional)
  • 12 mozzarella balls (ciliegine or bocconcini)
  • 6 black olives, halved


Instructions

  1. Boil the spaghetti noodles in a pot of salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and chopped onions, sautéing until fragrant and translucent.
  3. Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and red chili flakes (if using) to the saucepan. Stir well and let simmer for 15 minutes.
  4. Prepare the mozzarella eyeballs by inserting a halved black olive into each mozzarella ball.
  5. Toss the cooked spaghetti in the sauce until evenly coated.
  6. Serve the spaghetti on a plate and top with mozzarella eyeballs before serving.
