Festive and delicious cookies combining cheesecake and chocolate, perfect for Halloween.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Black food coloring (optional)
  • Chocolate chips or Halloween-themed sprinkles (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter, cream cheese, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and black food coloring if using.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until well incorporated.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips or sprinkles if desired.
  7. Scoop tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers remain soft.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
