Description

This Hamburger Stroganoff is a hearty and creamy dish that comes together quickly for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Boil the Noodles: Start by boiling water and cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Brown the Beef: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks.
  3. Sauté the Vegetables: Toss in the chopped onion and sliced mushrooms into the beef mixture. Stir occasionally and cook for about 5 minutes, until softened. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  4. Make the Sauce: Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and stir to combine. Cook for 1-2 minutes to eliminate the raw flour taste.
  5. Add Liquid: Gradually pour in the beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps. Add Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and parsley. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  6. Stir in Sour Cream: Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the sour cream until creamy and smooth.
  7. Combine with Noodles: Add the drained egg noodles to the skillet and mix gently to coat the noodles with the sauce.
  8. Serve: Plate the Hamburger Stroganoff and garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

Feel free to substitute ingredients like ground beef with turkey or chicken and egg noodles with any pasta you have on hand.
