Description

A quick and easy beef stroganoff recipe using ground beef, mushrooms, and a creamy sauce, perfect for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 8 oz fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
  • 1 cup full-fat sour cream
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked egg noodles or rice for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring until browned and cooked through.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté for 3 to 4 minutes until softened.
  3. Stir in the sliced mushrooms and cook for another 5 minutes until tender.
  4. Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and stir well. Gradually pour in the beef broth while stirring continuously. Let it simmer for 3 to 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Reduce heat and fold in the sour cream. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve the beef stroganoff over the cooked egg noodles or rice, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Feel free to substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option, or use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream. This dish is versatile and can be adjusted to your taste.
