A quick and easy beef stroganoff recipe using ground beef, mushrooms, and a creamy sauce, perfect for a comforting meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 8 oz fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
- 1 cup full-fat sour cream
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked egg noodles or rice for serving
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring until browned and cooked through.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté for 3 to 4 minutes until softened.
- Stir in the sliced mushrooms and cook for another 5 minutes until tender.
- Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and stir well. Gradually pour in the beef broth while stirring continuously. Let it simmer for 3 to 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Reduce heat and fold in the sour cream. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve the beef stroganoff over the cooked egg noodles or rice, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
