Description
A classic Beef Stroganoff dish featuring tender strips of beef in a creamy sauce served over egg noodles, perfect for a comforting dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef sirloin or tenderloin, cut into strips
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 cup sour cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 oz egg noodles
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Boil water in a large pot. Add a pinch of salt and cook the egg noodles for 7-9 minutes until tender, then drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil or butter over medium-high heat. Add the beef strips and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and garlic. Cook until soft, about 5 minutes.
- Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until browned.
- Pour in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard. Bring to a simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Reduce heat, stir in the sour cream, and add the cooked beef back into the sauce. Season with salt and pepper, and heat through.
- Spoon the creamy beef stroganoff over the egg noodles and garnish with parsley, if desired.
Notes
Ensure the sour cream is at room temperature to prevent curdling. Tasting as you cook is essential for proper seasoning.
