A quick and comforting beef stroganoff recipe that’s rich, creamy, and perfect for weeknights or date nights.
Ingredients
- 1 pound beef sirloin, sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Egg noodles, for serving
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the beef slices until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add onions, garlic, and mushrooms; cook until soft.
- Stir in flour and cook for an additional minute.
- Gradually add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring until the mixture thickens.
- Lower the heat and stir in the sour cream. Return the beef to the skillet; simmer for a few minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Serve over cooked egg noodles and garnish with parsley.
Notes
Avoid overcrowding the pan when cooking the beef. You can substitute sour cream with Greek yogurt or crème fraîche if desired.
