Description
A rich and creamy beef stroganoff that is quick and easy to make, providing comfort food vibes in under an hour.
Ingredients
- 1 pound beef tenderloin, sliced into thin strips
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup sour cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked egg noodles or rice, for serving
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat and sauté the beef slices until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add onions and mushrooms, cooking until softened. Add garlic and cook for another minute, scraping the brown bits from the bottom of the pan.
- Return the beef to the skillet and pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Lower the heat and stir in the sour cream until well combined. Season with salt and pepper, taking care not to boil the mixture.
- Serve over cooked egg noodles or rice.
Notes
Ensure not to overcrowd the pan when cooking the beef to achieve a good sear. For a creamy sauce, never add sour cream to a boiling liquid.
