Description
A creamy and savory beef stroganoff that’s easy to make for a cozy dinner at home.
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef sirloin, sliced thinly
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Egg noodles or rice for serving
- Olive oil for cooking
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the onions and garlic. Sauté until softened.
- Add the mushrooms and cook until tender, about 3 to 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle flour over the mushroom mixture and stir to combine.
- Gradually add in the beef broth, stirring constantly until thickened.
- Reduce heat and stir in the sour cream until well combined.
- Return the beef to the skillet and let it heat through.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve over cooked egg noodles or rice.
Notes
Avoid overcooking the beef and use room temperature sour cream for best results.
