Description

A creamy and savory beef stroganoff that comes together quickly, perfect for impressing friends or treating yourself after a long day.

Ingredients

  • 0.5 kg beef sirloin (thinly sliced)
  • 0.03 kg butter
  • 0.01 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 large onion (chopped)
  • 0.25 kg mushrooms (sliced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 0.03 kg all-purpose flour
  • 0.47 L beef broth
  • 0.18 L sour cream
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and black pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef sirloin into thin strips.
  2. Melt the butter and olive oil together in a large pan over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onion until translucent—around 5 minutes.
  3. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Throw in the sliced beef, season with salt and black pepper, and cook until browned (4-5 minutes).
  5. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for a minute.
  6. Sprinkle flour over the mixture and cook for another 2 minutes.
  7. Gradually stir in the beef broth, cooking until thickened (about 5 minutes).
  8. Reduce the heat, stir in sour cream and Worcestershire sauce until combined.
  9. Adjust seasoning as needed before serving over pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes.

Notes

Avoid skimping on salt and remember to slice the beef thinly to ensure tenderness.
