Ingredients
- 1 pound beef sirloin, cut into thin strips
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 chopped onion
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 8 ounces sliced mushrooms
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 cup sour cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked egg noodles or rice for serving
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add beef strips and sauté until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet; sauté until softened and translucent.
- Add sliced mushrooms and cook until they release moisture, about 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle flour over mushrooms; stir to coat evenly.
- Gradually pour in beef broth; stir and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Stir in Dijon mustard, then return beef to skillet.
- Simmer for a few more minutes to absorb flavors.
- Lower heat and gently stir in sour cream, heating without boiling.
- Serve over cooked egg noodles or rice; garnish with fresh parsley.
Notes
For a vegetarian version, use mushrooms instead of beef and vegetable broth.
