Description

A classic dish combining savory beef, fresh mushrooms, and a creamy sauce, perfect for cozy family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef sirloin, cut into thin strips
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 8 ounces sliced mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked egg noodles or rice for serving
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add beef strips and sauté until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet; sauté until softened and translucent.
  4. Add sliced mushrooms and cook until they release moisture, about 5 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle flour over mushrooms; stir to coat evenly.
  6. Gradually pour in beef broth; stir and bring to a gentle simmer.
  7. Stir in Dijon mustard, then return beef to skillet.
  8. Simmer for a few more minutes to absorb flavors.
  9. Lower heat and gently stir in sour cream, heating without boiling.
  10. Serve over cooked egg noodles or rice; garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, use mushrooms instead of beef and vegetable broth.
