A cozy and creamy Beef Stroganoff recipe that is simple and satisfying, perfect for a quick meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef sirloin, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 medium yellow onion, sliced
- 8 oz fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
- 1 cup full-fat sour cream
- 8 oz egg noodles
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear the beef sirloin until browned on all sides for about 4 to 5 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add sliced onions and sauté for 3 to 4 minutes until translucent.
- Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Stir in sliced mushrooms and cook until golden brown, about 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and stir to combine, then gradually add beef broth while stirring until smooth. Simmer gently until thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in sour cream and smoked paprika until creamy.
- Serve over cooked egg noodles or mashed potatoes.
