Description

A hearty beef stew with tender meat and luscious mushroom gravy, perfect for cozy nights.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds beef stew meat
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Egg noodles, mashed potatoes, or rice for serving

Instructions

  1. In a slow cooker, combine the beef stew meat, beef broth, mushrooms, onion, garlic, and Worcestershire sauce.
  2. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Cook on low for 7-8 hours or until the beef is tender.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the flour with a bit of heavy cream to make a slurry.
  5. Stir the slurry into the slow cooker along with the remaining heavy cream and cook for an additional 30 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  6. Serve over egg noodles, mashed potatoes, or rice.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half and half or coconut milk. Can also use pork or chicken instead of beef.
