Deliciously fun Bat Cupcakes, perfect for Halloween or any spooky-themed party, featuring a hidden fruit jam or Nutella surprise.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup fruit jam (or Nutella)
- Chocolate frosting (for decoration)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the butter until creamy. Add the eggs one at a time, then add vanilla and buttermilk.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fill each cupcake liner halfway with batter. Add a teaspoon of jam (or Nutella) in the center, then cover with more batter.
- Bake for about 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool completely before frosting with chocolate frosting.
- Decorate as desired for Halloween.
Notes
Use room temperature ingredients for better mixing. Don’t overmix the batter to keep the cupcakes fluffy.
