Enjoy crispy and flavorful Air Fryer Salt and Pepper Chicken with garlic, ginger, and a blend of spices. A guilt-free favorite that’s perfect for any occasion!
Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs (cut into 1-inch pieces)
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- Oil spray
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic (finely grated)
- 1 tablespoon finely grated ginger
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons white pepper powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon five-spice powder
- A small handful of basil (sliced)
- Lemon wedges (for serving)
- Sliced hot peppers (for garnish)
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken with garlic, ginger, brown sugar, salt, and white pepper in a large bowl for at least 30 minutes.
- In a small bowl, prepare the spice mix with the remaining spices.
- Coat the marinated chicken with cornstarch until evenly coated.
- Place the chicken in the air fryer basket, making sure not to overlap.
- Spray generously with oil and cook at 350°F for 10 minutes.
- Flip the chicken, spray again with oil, increase temperature to 400°F and cook for an additional 5 minutes until golden brown.
- Transfer to a bowl, sprinkle with half the spice mix, toss gently, and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Garnish with basil and hot peppers, serve immediately with lemon wedges.
Notes
For best results, use freshly grated garlic and ginger.
