A quick and easy ground beef stroganoff that is hearty, creamy, and perfect for a weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 6 ounces egg noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- ¼ cup butter
- ¼ cup flour
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1¼ cup milk
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup sour cream
Instructions
- Cook the egg noodles according to package directions. Set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and whisk in flour for about 2 minutes to create a roux.
- Gradually add beef broth while whisking until the sauce thickens, about 3-4 minutes.
- Slowly stir in milk and continue stirring until thickened, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, and salt. Mix well.
- Reduce heat to low and combine cooked noodles and browned beef into the skillet. Stir gently.
- Stir in sour cream until well mixed. Serve hot.
Notes
For a healthier option, you can swap ground beef for ground turkey or plant-based alternatives. Don’t forget the sour cream for creaminess.
